Our Time is back with their new funky house cut “Ice Cold”! Inspired by the awkward-yet-romantic antics of Chromeo and Daze, the boys have crafted a uniquely French-inspired ode to “that” unattainable woman. Complemented by their signature experimental sound design and pristine production, this should satisfy even the most demanding musical appetites.
LUMBERJVCK and Le Castle Vania could not be better suited to collaborate with each other. Both have built their reputations on taking electronic music into harder and heavier territories. By working together, they seem to have dared each other to go even further down this road.
The ‘You Know My Name’ EP takes a punk rock attitude towards bass music. It delivers emotional melodies, crashing beats, rumbling basslines and tearing synths that leave you ultimately breathless. These tracks are designed to get a crowd hyped and keep them energetic and on their toes.
The sneering vocal and bass sounds of ‘You Know My Name’ are first out of the gate. Then, the funky bending bass and synths of this mid-tempo banger, ‘Numba One’ plants a fist firmly into your solar plexus. ‘Ham Sandwich’ increases the tempo and the funk further, inserting electro vibes as well as a touch of old-school hip-hop swagger into the mix. Finally, LA-based singer/songwriter Mariana Bell delivers a haunting vocal on the anthemic trapstep of closer ‘Carry On’ that lifts the whole release to even greater heights.
Uncompromising, energetic and alarming at times, this release ensures that anyone unfamiliar with Le Castle Vania and LUMBERJVCK before, will certainly KNOW THEIR NAMES after this.
Our Time is no stranger to the bloghouse scene. Constantly taking classics from that time and flipping them with a more current, beefier sound, you can’t go wrong with an Our Time remix of any older hit. This time they took a classic from Sebastian and turned it in to a dance floor smasher.
Everyone is out of town because everyone went to EDC Vegas. Summer heat is finally starting to arrive in central Oklahoma this weekend as we start a string of dates in the lower 90s. If you’re still driving to vegas right now, or are already there and bored in your hotel looking for some tracks that I’ll know you will hear out this weekend, here’s a bunch of free downloads!
It’s 2pm where I live. The work week is almost over for me and the weekend is about to start! If you’re randomly in Tulsa, Oklahoma tomorrow, I’m DJing at Electric Circus with some friends. It’s free to get in, so you have no excuse…. unless someone just got hurt and you’re rushing them to the hospital.
After you’re done at the hospital, come out and have a drink because you’ll need it.
Snowblind has an air of success about it already. Combine the original mix with fresh ears of new/rising artists and you create a masterpiece. Compiling them into an original EP package brings the works of art to the fans.
We are about to see spring weather here in Oklahoma and I am super excited about that. Here’s some awesome free music to help celebrate awesome weather!
