Autograf + Dirty South

“For us, the beauty about the Future is the endless possibilities it holds. In essence, it’s a blank canvas waiting to be painted on. We’d love nothing more than to ‘build’ and ‘make’ a Future that’s all our own. That means doing everything ourselves from scratch, bringing the hand of the artist back. So as we’ve been building a studio in the backyard and developing our new live show, we wanted to start this new “Future Nites” series of remixes and originals with an eye on creating music for these live performances.

We added a marimba to the live set, so it was natural to use it for Issue 1 of “Future Nites”, a remix we did for Dirty South. Live instrumentation will be an important part of our performances and songs, but “Future Nites” will stay true to the club. As summer turns to fall, and day turns to night, we hope that you’ll paint these empty canvases of endless possibilities with us. You do it by sharing and blasting music out into the world, with every action you make. It’s about leaving your mark on the world. It’s about leaving your Autograf. This is Future Nites.”

Crizzly + Slim Thug

The wait is now over, Crizzly has released one of hte biggest tracks he’s ever written! This track is another staple in his vastly growing genre that he’s created – Crunkstep. Almost every track the Texas native has ever put out has been released for free and Certified Gz is no exception.

PrototypeRaptor + VNV Nation

VNV Nation is not a name that I’ve heard in quite some time. A few weeks ago, PrototypeRaptor and I were joking around on iChat when suddenly we started sharing youtube links to late 90s / early 2000s EBM and synthpop tracks. It was then that PR decided that he needed to remake Legion by VNV Nation. He sent me his final mix and I had thought he found some acapella somewhere because I had never heard him do vocals on a track before. He can definitely pull off the monotone nu-school goth-wave vocals. I hope we get to hear him on the mic on some future PR tracks as well!

Drezo

Drezo is quickly becoming my favorite up and coming producer. Everything that he has been putting out makes me happy. From his big room techno originals to this garagey/bass bootleg of Eminem’s track Forgot About Dre, I see Drezo quickly becoming a member of the new movement of house music djs.

Night Drive

Inspired by dark, synth-heavy electro pop, The Austin/Houston duo Night Drive released their first single “Drones” in June of 2013 followed by an array of remixes leading up to their 5 song EP, Position I. They spent the rest of the year on tour with international bands like Tesla Boy, Gold Fields and Jupiter, quickly garnering a reputation as a must see, high energy live show.

2014 has seen Night Drive at the moves and on the radio with their single “After Dark.” Now the duo shares a brand new original “Young Rivals,” out today via Sound Control Records. With David Bowie-esque vocals and romantically nostalgic melodies in the vein of New Order, “Young Rivals” feels like the closing song at your high school prom.

Stay tuned for more from Night Drive as they prep an official “Young Rivals” video with a remix by New York City’s sweethearts ASTR.

The Death of Summer pt. 4

Coming up on the first day of the fall season and summer is getting really confused. Yesterday was warm and muggy and today is wet and sunny and cool at the same time. We can defeat the heat and get to my favorite season soon!

The Death of Summer pt. 3

So it’s heating back up here in central Oklahoma and summer’s trying to stick around. I don’t agree with this decision that summer is making so let’s cool it back down!
