Taking influence from the likes of DJ Pierre, Giorgio Moroder and Kraftwerk, this 2-track electro meets techno meets disco cut; their second for Wax:On Music, follows the Eskimo Twins policy to the letter.
Lead track ‘Judas’ waits a good four minutes before betraying it’s deep, chugging techno origins with a sophisticated turn-around, transforming events with throbs of nu-wave electro disco. It displays a fleeting glimpse of brightness before you find yourself back in murkier depths of analogue techno, with only the squelches and zaps holding a torch to guide you. With its bobbing 808 toms, human claps and disco-arp basslines, ‘Judas’ delivers an unfolding and irresistible groove.

‘Droid’ on the flip, is tribal metal drums meets guttural, noisy synths overdriven through a wall of guitar amps. This is Sepultura and Pantera filtered through the Twin’s synthesizer laboratory and primed for warehouse raving.Stripped back beats, angry, piercing top lines and acid tweaks give way to raucous drops and wobbly basslines, showing the Twins love of noise.
