Whattup everyone! Here’s some new awesome tracks that no one paid me to post! (Thanks for unindexing our blog, Hype Machine.)
So yeah, Hype Machine took us off of their indexing for no reason other than they claim we only make posts that people pay us to put up here. We don’t make any money from this blog and don’t charge anyone to submit (like most blogs do these days). We tried explaining this to Hype Machine but they refused to even acknowledge our emails and just ignored us. Thanks guys. Luv u 2.
A few of our favorite blogs got the same treatment from Hype Machine. I’m not sure what they’re trying to accomplish here but it just seems like they’re shooting themselves in the foot with the amazing press they’re getting from the mad blogs. We got a lot of our traffic from Hype Machine because we posted cool music that people wanted to hear and ‘heart’ on their service. Over the past 7-8 years we’ve even gotten a few tracks to #1 on their popular charts.
But, whatever. We will continue posting in the hopes that you continue checking our blog every now and again.
We love you guys.
Autograf is back with another big one. They seem to do no wrong. This time they’re back with an official Griz remix that they’re giving away for free! Download this right now for monster feels and to help get you through the fact that summer’s almost over.
Mix a little Odesza with a sprinkle of Autograf and you get amazingness! I love both groups and am super happy Autograf sent over this new remix to share! Autograf delivers another amazing track!
When I was just a wee lad this was around the time that I would start getting excited about christmas. It’s the second week of December, weather was getting colder, days were getting shorter, school was getting boring-er. Time doesn’t mean much when you’re a kid but little bursts of it would pop in your head when you realize that christmas was only a couple weeks away.
I just hope that it snows on christmas day. It likes to do that in Oklahoma. That’s mother nature’s present to us most years.
In an effort to continue our tradition, we still only post music that is free to download.
What’s it like sleeping in? What’s it like partying late? I remember those days. This is a big party week for some, and for the others we’re just waiting until work says ‘just go home.’
We all get to eat too much on Thursday though so we’ve got that going for us!
“For us, the beauty about the Future is the endless possibilities it holds. In essence, it’s a blank canvas waiting to be painted on. We’d love nothing more than to ‘build’ and ‘make’ a Future that’s all our own. That means doing everything ourselves from scratch, bringing the hand of the artist back. So as we’ve been building a studio in the backyard and developing our new live show, we wanted to start this new “Future Nites” series of remixes and originals with an eye on creating music for these live performances.
We added a marimba to the live set, so it was natural to use it for Issue 1 of “Future Nites”, a remix we did for Dirty South. Live instrumentation will be an important part of our performances and songs, but “Future Nites” will stay true to the club. As summer turns to fall, and day turns to night, we hope that you’ll paint these empty canvases of endless possibilities with us. You do it by sharing and blasting music out into the world, with every action you make. It’s about leaving your mark on the world. It’s about leaving your Autograf. This is Future Nites.”
4 summers ago we were catching Soulwax / 2ManyDJs’ set at Lollapalooza. They were on the dance stage up against Lady Gaga on the main. Halfway through their set as they were taking us to another level, the whole crowd started chanting “Fuck Lady Gaga!” for a good 20 minutes. You could tell it was the start of something big for dance culture. Since then, dance music has taken some really interesting twists and turns. So for Issue 2 of our ongoing “Future Summer” series, we wanted to cover an epic festival hit from 4 years ago, and bring it into The Future by giving it a sexy Tropical House / Future House chill vibe appropriate for any pool party or late night festival vibe tent.
With the hot sunny days upon us, we decided to start the Future Summer remix series. For every month this summer, we’ll be taking a song we’re really feeling at the moment and giving it our Future House, summer-inspired remix treatment.. you know.. that festival vibe tent, those poolside jams, those warm summer club nights.. And we’ll be giving them all away for free as a thank you to our fans. As a new group, it can be hard to get noticed, so we really appreciate people taking the time to discover and share our music. For the first one in the series, we couldn’t have thought of a better song to remix than Pharrell’s collaboration with one of our all-time heroes, Daft Punk.
My goodness, everything that Autograf touches turns to gold. I’ve always been a fan of Stevie Wonder and Autograf just destroys it with this remix. That’s all that I have to say.
